Are You Fully Here?

Each day we become apart of the most sacred, yet mystical and awesomely divine act of participating in living.

For a brief moment stop what you’re doing and just take that in. Just look around you and watch all of life happening.

…Simply amazing! Isn’t it!

We live in a very structured and systematic society with varied systems put in place, leaving us with a host of titles, obligations, and responsibilities. We began living, in such a way that our everyday consciousness doesn’t reach too far beyond the daily responsibilities competing for our attention. It almost becomes an inescapable web leaving very little time to contemplate anything more than just that, as a result many of us simply exist on autopilot without even realizing. In the most concrete sense, we are physically present, but just as present as the child in school whose name is being called for attendance and raises a hand ”here”. “Yes, here”. Here only in time and in space. But more often than not, connection from the very  core of who we truly are to our actual experiences …”we are lost in translation”. Missing the depth and the magic in each living moment so vital for living harmoniously with ourselves, with the divine and with others. We are merely here on a surface level.

I suppose, the questions of all questions is, are you fully “here”. Here in body, here in mind and here in spirit. What actually is living? Does it garner definition? Are you living? What does it mean to live and to be alive? Are you living from the center of who you are? What does that even mean? And what exactly does that embody, what does it look like? Does it even have an identity? Does it make associations and affiliations that will prelude certain outcomes?

What does one who “lives” do? Is it the attainment of societal status? Is it having a successful career? Is it the pursuit of education and wealth, recognition or fame? Is it social status? Is it fighting for world peace? Is it the embodiment of the prayer warrior, the religious leader, the religious follower, the yogini, the avid meditator, the Buddhist monk, the vegan, the humanitarian, the doer of good deeds? Does living have a title, does it have a face, can it be bought, and is it a subject for mastery?..... Are you living?

Take a few moments to contemplate....

Again and yet again in the most gentle but fiercest way, the truth will arise within you.
